Welcome to Built Green® of Clallam County. In September, 2005, officers of the North Peninsula Building Association voted to sponsor a local green building program, Built Green® of Clallam County. With that mandate, a committee of community members and local governmental representatives began a collaboration with the purpose of developing advisory checklists. These checklists are in place to aid builders and developers resource efficient methods of creating homes.
Presently, there are 45 builders and businesses enrolled in Built Green® of Clallam County. These businesses support us in our mission to educate the construction trades & the public, alike, in the latest sustainable building techniques and materials.
Since September 2007, eleven homes have been certified with a 1 star Built Green® of Clallam County rating, and 1 home with a 5 star rating. Built Green Checklists provide a menu of green building choices, that can be adapted to any budget.
Consider becoming an enrolled member if you provide goods or services that comply with Built Green® Clallam County.
Checklist standards, Support for Built Green® of Clallam County is currently provided through member enrollment fees as well as a Public Participation Grant through the Washington State Department of Ecology & a Department of Ecology Coordinated Prevention Grant in conjunction with Clallam County.
